At Zaya, we are designing immersive, experiential classes, that combine the power of sound, visual arts & mindfulness practices to induce altered states of consciousness by creating a psychedelic experience. Each class is intended to support your mental and emotional wellbeing.
You will embark on a 1 hour journey which is facilitated by a licensed therapist or experienced practitioner. (In-Person or Livestreamed available)
a class where the moment you begin, you feel yourself immerse into a 3 dimensional sound experience that envelopes you.
Your brain begins to synchronize to the harmonious rhythm of the music. Cutting through the etheral soundscape is a voice, its your teacher, the person that will guide you into a profound inner experience. An experience that will move you beyond the body and mind.
You go deeper and deeper into a state that blurs the lines between the real and imaginary state. Here you become the observer of your reality which dissolves the concept of self-boundary and time itself. You begin to feel a deep connection with other people and the world. A feeling of self-transcendence, self-awarenss and openness fills you.
As the class ends, you find yourself integrating your experience back into reality. Through the silence and stillness you find peace and clarity.
WHERE: IN PERSON CLASSES TAKE PLACE IN A LOCATION IN BERLIN, GERMANY. CLASSES WILL ALSO BE LIVESTREAMED IN 1080P AND ACCESSIBLE FROM THE COMFORT & SAFETY OF YOUR OWN HOME.
WHEN: STARTING EARLY 2022
COST: €20-30 (APPROX.)
THE SCIENCE BEHIND ALTERED STATES OF CONSCIOUSNESS: SOUND, VISUAL ARTS & MINDFULNESS
Altered states of consciousness have likely been part of the human cognitive repertoire for at least 100,000years, if not longer. Today, we have sound systems that entrance hundreds of thousands of people at once, immersive art that transforms waking reality into an interactive dream state, and mindfulness-based practices that tune the nervous system towards peak performance.
When listening to music, brainwaves move from the high-beta of normal waking consciousness down into the meditative (and trance-inducing) ranges of alpha and theta. At the same time, levels of stress hormones like norepinephrine and cortisol drop, while social bonding and reward chemicals like dopamine, endorphins, serotonin, and oxytocin spike.
A 2012 Stanford study found that the feeling of being in "awe" of something with perceptual vastness, such as an immersive interactive art experience, expands people’s perception of time, alters decision making, and enhances well-being - driving us into deeply altered states.
