About the Event

Description of Workshop:

This workshop is for patients, family, friends, or clinical staff who would like to become more informed & understand late-stage (chronic) Lyme Disease & how it affects one’s physical/emotional/spiritual health. Conventional Western medicine approaches Lyme Disease haphazardly, and the system is hurting, not helping patients' lives improve. We will discuss why a comprehensive & holistic approach to treatment is the key to healing mind, body, and spirit from Lyme Disease, as well as how to access the power within to catalyze one’s healing journey. Later in the workshop, we’ll go through a psychological exercise as a tool to support the healing journey from Lyme Disease (and other chronic illnesses).

In this workshop you will learn:

  • What Lyme Disease is and what the incidence rate and current treatment standards for Lyme Disease are the US, UK, and EU.
  • Why the medical system is failing patients with Lyme Disease, & how it impacts patient’s support system, as well as how other non-profit organizations work towards treatment, funding, and advocacy for Lyme Disease.
  • How to approach Lyme Disease in a holistic way to comprehensively address a patient’s needs.
  • Holistic psychological tools & practices that are free to implement, but greatly improve the healing journey from late-stage Lyme Disease.

What you'll gain from this workshop:

  • Become more aware and educated around the prevalence and severity of late-stage Lyme Disease, and how it impacts patients from multiple domains of their life in addition to the illness itself.
  • Discussion and examples of ways to holistically support the healing process from late-stage Lyme Disease that support transformational and comprehensive healing.
  • Validation that one CAN thrive in their “new normal” despite living with late-stage Lyme Disease.

Outline of the workshop:

  • What late-stage (chronic) Lyme Disease is & the estimated prevalence is in the US, UK, and EU
  • The barriers patients with late-stage Lyme Disease face
  • Beyond pills & attacking the “enemy” – a new approach to treatment
  • Group exercise and discussion
  • Final thoughts and Q&A

About Katherine

Katherine Rose, MSW is a social worker and holistic mindset coach for women with Lyme Disease. She is in “remission” from late-stage Lyme Disease, and spent years bounced around dozens of allopathic (Western) medicine doctors in search of a diagnosis for her mysterious and debilitating symptoms, leaving her depressed, sick, & tired. Finally, after 7 years, Katherine received a diagnosis of Lyme Disease (and coinfections) through functional medicine, which coincided with her epiphany in life that recognized the deep importance and connection of the mind, body, & spirit. Katherine’s degree in health sciences, background in healthcare and social work, and personal experience and research on why we become dis-eased has inspired Katherine to understand how to approach life through foundational pillars to live a thriving and fulfilling life, including, but not limited to: mindfulness, diet, movement, breath, and more. Katherine believes chronic illness and other traumas are there to provide valuable lessons in life, and without suffering, there would be no appreciation and love for the beauty of life.
